Honorary State FFA Degree
State Deadline- May 1

Instructors, school officials, farmers, agricultural leaders and others who show special interest and render service in the promotion of the work of the local chapters and the state association are eligible for election to Honorary Membership. State Honorary Degrees may be granted at the State Convention upon favorable vote of the delegates present.

The National FFA Organization bestows these awards for adults each year at national convention. The recipients are invited to participate in an award ceremony and to receive recognition onstage at the national convention.

Proficiency Awards
State Deadline- March 15

The Agricultural Proficiency Awards program like the FFA motto, helps you set goals and learn practical skills. The program rewards FFA members at the local, state and national levels for exceptional accomplishments and excellence in a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program. All applications received will be judged for the state program. Unless otherwise requested by the applicant, elegible applications will be forwarded to the National FFA for recognition.

 

American FFA Degree
State Deadline- March 15

The American FFA Degree is the highest level that can be achieved as an FFA member. This final step in the FFA Degree system encourages students to grow, achieve personally toward establishing themselves in an agricultural career, and requires a solid commitment to agriculture and FFA.

 

AgriScience Student Award
State Deadline- April 15

The Agriscience Student Program recognizes high school students who are studying the application of scientific principles and emerging technologies in the agricultural industry. The program provides scholarships to FFA members planning to pursue a college degree in agricultural science while helping to provide a reliable supply of Agriscience graduates to meet the private and public agribusiness sectors' needs.

Agri–Entrepreneurship Award

A Tribute to the Entrepreneurial Spirit, the Agri-Entrepreneurship Education Program is designed to increase the amount of entrepreneurship being taught in local agriculture programs across the country. With this information, students will be better prepared to become entrepreneurs and will begin to perceive entrepreneurship as a viable career choice.

Outstanding Maryland Greenhand

State Deadline- May 15

The Outstanding Maryland Greenhand Award promotes excellence and encourages new FFA members who are developing their Supervised Agricultural Experience program, leadership skills, and general knowledge of the FFA to further their development. This program is sponsored by the Elmer L. Cooper Memorial Fund as a special project of the Maryland FFA Foundation, Inc.  This endowment was established for the purpose of funding programs and activities through the Maryland FFA Association that promote the development of future leaders in agriculture.  Dr. Cooper was a State Program Specialist in Agriculture at the MD State Department of Education, a high school teacher at North Harford High school and Teacher Educator in the Agricultural Education Department at the University of Maryland, College Park.
